The cloud services market would be expected to grow exponentially through 2022 as it would have over the last few years. Gartner would be predicting the cloud market to be worth $214.3 billion by the end of 2019. With so much growth, it is considered very easy to observe why becoming knowledgeable in the cloud would be considered resourceful for any IT services professional. Going after the top cloud certifications is believed to be a surefire way to secure new roles.
If you wouldn’t be quite ready for advanced certifications, CompTIA Cloud+ is believed to be an excellent introductory certification. The certificate is meant for people with two to three years of working experience with data center administration, networking, and storage. If you would be interested in learning more about virtual data center management and infrastructure, then CompTIA Cloud+ could act as your guide for the optimization of such services. And it is considered one of the few vendor-neutral certifications that wouldn’t be restricted to a single function like networking or security.
Cisco’s CCNA Cloud is considered a role-specific certification that would be designed to help the cloud engineers, administrators, and network engineers transition into higher functions. Earning this cloud certification would also equip you for supporting your company in evolving with changing business and technology demands. There wouldn’t be any prerequisites for this certification, but you could go for the relevant Cisco training courses to prepare for the exam.
Like the certification above, this is considered a role-specific certificate meant to help the candidates become a cloud architect. Because this would be an expert-level certification, you must possess experience in cloud development and administrator beforehand. Microsoft would require you to take the courses AZ-300 and AZ-301 before earning the Azure Solutions Architect certification.
The Certified Cloud Security Professional from (ISC)² is considered helpful for you in learning about cloud security. Unlike role-based or vendor-based certifications, this one is considered to be much more based on function. However, it is an expert-level certification, so you are going to require taking the CISSP beforehand. The CCSP would be providing you the tools for securing and managing your cloud environments. It would be able to demonstrate your advanced technical skills when it comes to best practices, procedures, and policies in conjunction with composing and designing data, applications, and infrastructure security.
